Gary & Simon
5m14s ; 2015

This short radio play is part of the ‘Conversational Pieces’ series. In these radio plays the listener is witness to verbal exchanges between two individuals who seem to know each other – friends, partners, family, etc. In one scene, a conversation leads to positive emotions and, in another scene, negative emotions come up as consequence of a disagreement. The idea for this work stems from the saying “A storm in a teacup”. It is a work about everyday communication and draws the attention to the way we interact with each other through language and emotion.

In ‘Gary & Simon’ we enter the world of two good friends, who tell each other jokes, watch sports on the telly together and argue about the right way to recycle things.
