Jane P. Perry is an artist, storyteller, and child advocate. She creates audio experiences using field recordings, sometimes using collage to weave a sound composition, sometimes using raw footage to highlight a vivid auditory event. Perry uses audio to play with and incite imagination. Some of her audios are illusory, calling for the listener to create a hypothesis from the audio stream. In a world often driven by visual stimulation, Jane P. Perry’s stand alone auditory experiences prompt the listener to exercise a creative, perceptual faculty that can be not only rejuvenating, but neurologically tenacious. You can find Jane P. Untitled 4B is a sound composition layered in a collage from one field recording on a Zoom H2next. The original sound is retained as recorded. This sound composition is best experienced either using headphones or speakers where no other competing sound is present. Recommended for a Listening Salon playlist occasion interspersed with thirty seconds of silence between audio art pieces.

In the sound composition Time, the Sixteenth Century eglise of Bastide de Bassoues in the Midi Pyrenees of France meets a stairwell in the Musée des arts et métiers in Paris meets Southern Appalachian curios. The silent parts are not silent. This sound composition is best experienced either using headphones or speakers where no other competing sound is present. Recommended for a Listening Salon playlist occasion interspersed with thirty seconds of silence between audio art pieces.
