Ashley Blackman

Taking My Body for a Walk
3m49s ; 2016

Ashley Blackman is currently using video games in his and looking at the blurry line between virtual reality and reality to see how visuals and sounds from games could be mistaken for reality. He creates artwork that could/can be made in reality but chooses to create the work in the virtual to push the boundaries of what he can create within the space he is given i.e. photography, film, sound and sculpture are all aspects within his work. It’s not for the viewer to be fooled by whether it’s real or virtual it’s to make the viewer aware of how ‘real’ virtual reality is becoming.
